Robert Churchill studied fine art in Canada where his work first came to prominence in a touring
exhibition of British Columbia before he came to England to obtain a degree in Architecture.
Subsequently Robert worked as a designer in London and Los Angeles before committing fully to
his art in 1992. He has exhibited at numerous galleries and institutions including the R.I in
London and the R.W.A in Bristol.



Robert tends to work in series, sometimes starting with a subject, sometimes with an idea of how
a work is to be made. Usually the subject and the approach are developed in tandem looking for
ways in which they might both best express each other. His work is more about developing a large
'vocabulary' for wide interests rather than a pre-determined formula.
