Exhibition Information

The White Room Gallery is delighted to present a selection of signed, limited edition prints by Damien Hirst. Our exhibition features newly-released woodcut 'Spot' prints bearing the names of various pharmaceuticals as their titles, a series of intricate photo-real Butterfly prints and a silkscreen with diamond dust depicting Hirst's 2007 piece For the Love of God, a diamond-encrusted platinum cast of a human skull.

Damien Hirst requires no introduction. He is one of the world's most prominent and controversial living artists; whose extensive practice has challenged the boundaries between art, science, religion, the media and popular culture. His work explores the uncertainties of human existence through unconventional and unexpected media and imagery.

While still a student at Goldsmiths College in 1988, Hirst curated and exhibited in the now renowned student exhibition Freeze, a seminal event in the formation of the Young British Artists: the cutting-edge, revolutionary group promoted by Charles Saatchi in the 1990s. In 1995 Hirst gained institutional acclaim when he was awarded the Turner Prize and since then he has continued to create visually arresting and conceptually provocative work which unfailingly generates thought, opinion and debate.

This exhibition promises to be an exciting opportunity to view a collection of the latest work by one of today's most important artists.
