David Troughton, further information
David Troughton was born in Coventry in 1951. He trained at Coventry College of Art and Design and is
currently head of art at the Kings School in Stratford-upon-Avon. He has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally
including shows in London, Amsterdam and New York.
Troughton uses a unique method of projecting his images onto to canvas and then uses mixed medium to incorporate colour. The result is an alluring and distinctive image from a time gone by with a block of colour to awaken the piece. His use of colour is sporadic yet specific and cleverly draws the observer into the entire image.
This is an artist whose innovative technique and approach will ensure that his reputation continues to grow in the 21st Century as he continues to experiment will the boundaries of past and present.
